Facades - the showcase of the house and a shield against the sun
A facade is more than just aesthetics. In the Spanish climate, it is the building’s first line of defense. It performs a key technical function – it protects the walls from extreme sun, wind, and moisture. At DPE, we design facades to combine local style (lightness and bright colors) with the engineering durability necessary in southern conditions.
Elevation plaster - universal standard
This is the most common choice in single-family construction in Spain. We focus on bright shades: whites, sands, and warm beiges. This is a choice dictated not only by fashion, but by building physics.
Why a bright facade?
- Reflects solar rays: It acts as a shield, limiting the heating of the walls.
- Aesthetics: It gives the building a fresh, elegant look and blends perfectly with the greenery of the garden and red roof tiles.
- Technology: Depending on the finishing standard, we use:
- Monocapa or stucco plasters: Traditional, single-layer solutions creating a durable, weather-resistant shell.
- Thin-layer plasters (acrylic/silicone): Used in modern projects on insulated walls. They are flexible and dirt-resistant.
- Texture: Clients have a choice between an ideally smooth surface or a delicately textured one – currently, simple and timeless forms dominate.
Natural accents - stone, brick, ceramics
For investors who value tradition and unique character, we enrich facades with noble natural materials.
- Natural stone: Ideal for plinths, entrance zones, and details. It not only emphasizes the Mediterranean style but physically strengthens the facade, increasing its resistance to mechanical damage and dirt near the ground.
- Facade brick: Gives the building a solid, classic look. We use it consciously – mainly as a decorative element, remembering that brick accumulates heat more strongly than bright plaster.
- Ceramics: Ceramic tiles used as bands around windows or decorative strips are a subtle nod to local craftsmanship and the architectural traditions of the region.
Modern facades - simplicity and prestige
In modern villa projects, we increasingly reach for premium solutions that guarantee a “wow” effect and minimalism of form.
- Ventilated cladding: We use porcelain tiles, composite panels, or architectural concrete mounted on a sub-structure. This is not only an aesthetic solution but also a technical one – the air gap under the cladding provides air circulation, which additionally improves the thermal comfort of the walls by isolating them from direct sun.
Durability for years (UV resistance)
The southern sun is merciless to poor quality materials. Regardless of the chosen style (plaster or stone), our priority is UV resistance. We use only proven systems and facade paints that do not fade or degrade under the influence of the sun. We design facades to be easy to keep clean and refresh if necessary, so that your home looks modern and aesthetic for many years.
